Working together and building strong professional alliances is the key to building an effective and responsive child protection system. Collaboration in a technical sense, is the cooperative effort between two or more individuals, organizations, or entities to work together towards a shared goal or objective. It involves actively engaging and combining the knowledge, resources, and expertise of the participants to achieve a common outcome. Collaboration focuses on sharing responsibilities, ideas, and efforts to enhance collective problem-solving, innovation, and efficiency. My practice has always been firmly embedded in the building and sustaining of relationships. Working in the child welfare sector is challenging however working collaboratively and having a strong collegial network sustains me and my work.
Achieving meaningful change in the child protection sector cannot be achieved by one individual and as my practice grows so too will my partnerships.
I value my partnership with the team from Journey to Healing Pathways. We value the collaboration as we set out together to advocate for change to address common challenges. We are working together from a trauma informed perspective to enhance the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal workforce in the child welfare sector. Our work together is about improving cultural safety and inclusive of diversity and lived experience. Every person working in a complex context must feel valued and nurtured to give their best to the people with whom they work. Contact us to find out more. We would love to hear from you.
